PraanaTech at JPM/Biotech Showcase 2024 in San Francisco

PraanaTech presented at the JPM/Biotech Showcase 2024 in San Francisco — and I could not be prouder of what our team brought to that stage. For those unfamiliar with the event: the JPMorgan Healthcare Conference and the Biotech Showcase held alongside it represent one of the most concentrated gatherings of investors, innovators, and life science leaders in the world. Every January, San Francisco becomes the center of gravity for the global biotech and medtech industry. Being there — presenting what we are building — was a milestone I will remember for a long time.
Mythra Varun Nemallapudi and I represented PraanaTech, and together we made the case for why accessible PET imaging for Alzheimer's disease is not just a compelling clinical need, but a compelling investment opportunity. The scientific case is strong and getting stronger: disease-modifying therapies for Alzheimer's are now entering clinical practice, and every one of them requires confirmed amyloid-beta pathology — which means PET scans — before treatment can begin. The market for high-quality amyloid PET is set to expand dramatically, and the current imaging infrastructure is nowhere near adequate to meet that demand. PraanaTech's detector technology offers a pathway to closing that gap.
What struck me most about the experience was the quality of the conversations we had. Investors and clinicians alike understand the problem intuitively — because Alzheimer's disease touches nearly every family, and because the gap between what the science can do and what the healthcare system can deliver has never been more visible. We are building the bridge. San Francisco in January 2024 was one stop on a much longer journey — but it was an important one, and we are grateful for every conversation that moved us closer to the world we are trying to build: one where early, accurate Alzheimer's diagnosis is available to everyone, everywhere.
